The brilliant Year 2 children for Edna G Olds descended on the South Centre this month.
With a wonderful amount of enthusiasm and lots of great ideas, they each designed a wheeled vehicle, using computer aided design (CAD) software. The children used graphic tablets to draw their creations, which they took to like ducks to water.
Their designs were converted into outlines which were then cut out on a laser cutter. The children assembled their vehicles to include wheels and axles. Back at school, they stuck the printed designs onto their finished vehicle.
And this from their teacher:
"They look fantastic and the kids love them. They're all so individual - beats cereal boxes and cotton reels, hands down!
There was even some feedback from parents whose kids were talking about their day all evening."
