CPD Opportunities

We offer a wide variety of school based CPD relating to the use of ICT in schools and teaching/resourcing the new computing curriculum. Everything from one off after school twilight sessions to full INSET days. Sessions are customised so that they meet the needs of each school and help them to move forward.

Examples of recent Twilight sessions include: TAs: Getting to grips with the new computing curriculum, e safety update hands on session, TAs: Beebots, Bluebots, Probots and their place in the EYFS and KS1 Computing Curriculum, Using Kodu in the classroom, Scratch from Scratch, Scratch: the next steps, Theory Topics in the computing curriculum and Doing more with your ipads. Further details about these sessions can be found by clicking here to download details.

We have been using ipads successfully since they were released. We run introductory sessions for teachers as well as sessions focussing on apps in specific curriculum areas. We have a loan set of ipads which can be hired by schools who don't currently have access to tablet technology; schools find these useful to "test the waters". The hire cost may be less than you think.
You may wish to know that schools often combine to share the costs of sessions. We are delighted when this happens as most schools work in partnership with others and it makes the cost of our sessions more affordable. Any of our courses or conferences can be delivered in schools in this way.
In addition we run courses at EMITT (eLearning Centre) at Top Valley. These sessions are an opportunity for teachers to develop their skills with expert tuition from experienced practitioners. Lunch is provided for day courses. Parking is available onsite or on the adjacent road. Bring a memory stick with you to copy resources to take away!
